STEW LEONARD’S ANNOUNCES
WINNERS OF VALENTINE’S DAY CONTEST |
(WOW the COW To Deliver Roses, Chocolate Strawberries
and $100 Gift Certificate)
|
| |
NORWALK, CONN., Feb. 13, 2004 – Roses are red and violets are
blue, it is not easy picking a Valentine if you are Stew. More than
1,000 entries poured in online and in-store for the "Will You
Be Stew Leonard's Valentine" Contest. Three winning letters were
chosen from each store based on creativity, originality, and how it “WOWed” the
judges.
“Some entries made us laugh, others touched our hearts, and
many impressed us with their creativity,” said Stew Leonard,
Jr. President & CEO of Stew Leonard’s. “It makes me
so proud of our Team Members who deliver great customer service and
create a positive shopping experience for Stew Leonard’s customers
every day.”
The winners receive a visit from their very own
special Valentine --“Wow the Cow” -- who will personally deliver a dozen
roses, Stew’s chocolate covered strawberries and a $100 gift
card to each winner, in the store’s “Moo” van, along
with Stew Leonard’s “prize patrol” team members.

Maj. Craig Landau, MD 4219th US Army Hospital (for Gabriella Rose Landau)
I'm writing this Valentine on behalf of my beautiful 9-month old daughter,
Gabriella. We visit Stew's at least three times per week. She is absolutely
wild over the trapeze artists, the mooing cow and the Chiquita Banana
lady. I'm here with her now for the last time for quite some time as
I've been activated with the Army Reserves Medical Corps. I will spend
each day while I am away, thinking of our first return trip to Stew's,
and the mile-wide smile she will show me.

February 14th Valentine's Day was always my favorite day when my husband
was alive. He always came to Stew Leonard's and surprised me with flowers.
Although he is no longer with me, I still continue his tradition and
come to Stew's myself for flowers. However, it would be really nice to
have them delivered to my door -- kind of in memory of Jim! |

Sing to the tune of Da-doo-run-run
I needed some potatoes so I thought I'd take
A Stew's Run-Run-Run, a Stew's Run-Run
Bought some bananas and a chocolate cake
On my Stew's Run-Run-Run, my Stew's Run-Run
Oh, the fruits so fine,
Oh, the meat's divine
And so you gotta go on a
Stew's Run-Run-Run, a Stew's Run, Run

Stew's, you pull out all the stops -- from Krispy Kremes to Muffin Tops.
Wines - delicious! And so reasonable! Am I dreaming? It can't be feasible!
Fruit so fresh they make men weep. I'm Stew's-obsessed. I cannot sleep.
End this madness, I implore. Send "WOW" with chocolates to my
door.

My two-year old son loves Stewie the Duck Learns to Swim. It is the most
watched video we have in the house. As a result of this video, Matthew
will not go into a pool without his safe life vest. At our building pool,
Matthew tells all the big boys, “don’t jump in, learn to
swim!”. He has seven rubber duckies that take a bath with him,
each one named Stewie. I hope you will be his Valentine and mine!

| DANBURY STORE WINNERS |

Dana Krysynski, Trumbull, CT
I love Stew's... a few weeks ago my boyfriend and I did our first "official" shopping
trip together at the Danbury store. We always eat out and I offered to
cook a dinner for both sets of our parent's at his house in Danbury.
We had the best and easiest time going through the "maze" picking
out tortilla chips, dips, salsa, salad dressing, veggies, steaks and
scallops! We loved pulling the rope for the cow and watching the "shows" throughout
the store! (We even had to buy a propane tank around the side of the
store for the grill I bought him for Christmas! How convenient!) I was
so nervous because I never really cooked before! We had so much fun shopping
that day and cooking together that night. I suggested we pick our items
up at Stew's because my parents had been taking me since I was a baby
and even if I messed up cooking, I know that the items are such good
quality it still would have tasted good burned! The dinner ended up being
delicious! I love being in love and shopping at Stew's!

I love Stew’s ‘cause it’s really cool, the food is great
and the staff is too. You can bring the kids along for the ride, they’re
as happy as clams to see the fun inside. Thank you Stew’s for your
good staff and good stuff, folks like me can’t get enough

I love Stew Leonard’s because my kids think I am taking them to an
amusement park, my husband thinks I made dinner from “scratch” every
night and I look like Martha Stewart to the world. Thanks for making it
so easy for me!
