Long Island’s Own Gina Homolka to Sign Copies of Skinnytaste Fast and Slow at Stew Leonard’s in Farmingdale
Stew Leonard’s in Farmingdale will welcome local author Gina Homolka for a signing of her newest cookbook, Skinnytaste Fast and Slow: Knockout Quick-Fix and Slow-Cooker Recipes (Clarkson Potter, 10/11/16; Hardcover), on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from Noon – 2:00 p.m.
The follow-up to Gina Homolka’s New York Times bestseller The Skinnytaste Cookbook, Skinnytaste Fast and Slow offers 140 new super-simple low-fat, high-flavor meals that are either “fast”— come together in minutes—or “slow”—made in a slow cooker. The book is packed with 140 recipes that deliver exactly what the title promises: 90 quick dishes that come together easily, and 50 hands-off dishes made in a slow cooker. No one would guess that dishes such as Breakfast Banana Split, Slow-Cooker Chicken Burrito Bowls, Surf and Turf Kebabs, and Slow-Cooker Flourless Brownies would be low in calories and high in nutrition.
To get a “skinnytaste” of Homolka’s latest cookbook in advance, Stew Leonard’s chefs will prepare her recipe for Slow Cooker Bahn Mi Rice Bowls (p. 94) and have it available on the Farmingdale store’s hot bar staring on October 12. Stew’s culinary team will additionally offer customers samples of her Slow Cooker Turkey White Bean & Pumpkin Chili (pg. 65) during the book signing event.
Stew Leonard’s will sell the book for the special price of $21.99/each or two for $40, plus tax.
Gina Homolka is the founder of Skinnytaste.com, the award-winning blog that’s been featured on Fitness, Better Homes and Gardens, Glamour.com, and FineCooking.com, among other media outlets. She lives on Long Island with her husband and their two children.
