Stew's Country Hearth Bread Croutons

Italian Croutons – Toss cooked croutons with 1/2 teaspoon of chopped dried oregano or basil and 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese.

Cajun Croutons – Toss cooked croutons with 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1/4 teaspoon finely ground black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon paprika.

Cut into 1/2 inch cubes

1. Warm a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the oil and garlic and cook for 1 minute.


2. Add the bread cubes. Toss to coat with oil. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until golden brown on all sides.


3. Discard the garlic. When croutons are cool, place them in a plastic bag and refrigerate. They will keep for a month.
