Stew Leonard’s in Newington Hosts 10th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Stew Leonard’s store in Newington, Conn., the community and members of the media are invited to join the Leonard family on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. for a special cake cutting celebration. Members of the Newington High School choir will also sing “Happy Birthday” to the store’s 287 Team Members, 37% of whom have worked at the Newington store since it first opened. Stew Leonard’s beloved costume characters – including Wow the Cow and Stewie the Duck – will also be on hand to greet children and families.
Throughout the day, Stew Leonard’s culinary team will also offer complimentary samples of customers’ most-loved products, including:
• Avery’s Soda, which will debut a limited edition Stew’s Brew root beer in honor of the store’s 10th anniversary
• Sabrett Hot Dog Cart
• Brooklyn Pizza
• Capa di Roma tomato sauce
• Stew Leonard’s fresh mozzarella
• Chicken Burgers
• BLT Pasta Salad
• Fresh Kettle Chips and Guacamole

Stew Leonard’s fourth location opened in Newington opened in May 2007. Ten years later, Stew Leonard’s has grown to a proud member of the Newington community, having sponsored more than 400 local organizations every year like the Cromwell Little League, Hartford Police Union, and Hartford Fire Department Emerald Society. Shoppers have generously supported local and national charities through the store’s Wishing Well, having contributed an estimated $85,000 in spare change to organizations like Newington Children’s Theatre Company, Autism Speaks, and Yale New Haven Hospital-Melanoma Research Fund. Stew Leonard’s in Newington has also hired upwards of 900 local students from Newington and Berlin High School for both part-time and seasonal work.
