World’s Largest Dairy Store Celebrates First Store on Long Island
Family-owned farm fresh food grocer Stew Leonard’s will host a ceremonial groundbreaking and tree planting on the site of their new store Farmingdale, N.Y. on Wednesday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. Members of the Leonard family will be joined by current Stew Leonard’s Team Members as well as representatives from Kimco Realty and Petrocelli Construction at the site of the company’s fifth store and first grocery store location on Long Island. There will also be a special appearance by Wow the Cow, the store’s costumed character mascot.
In honor of Earth Day, which is April 22, the Leonard family will plant an evergreen tree on-site. After the ceremony, guests and media are invited to sample just a few of Stew Leonard’s best-selling items, including NAKED beef sliders, lobster rolls, and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
Stew Leonard’s new grocery store will be located in Kimco Realty Corp.’s (NYSE: KIM) Airport Plaza shopping center. The store is scheduled to officially open in early 2016.

Stew Leonard’s CEO Stew Leonard, Jr. will be joined by his two sisters: Stew Leonard’s Executive Vice President Beth Leonard Hollis and Executive Vice President of Culture and Communication Jill Leonard Tavello. Stew Jr., Beth, and Jill are the children of store founder Stew Leonard Sr. Two of the company’s future leaders – Stew Jr’s daughter, Chase, and Jill’s son, Jake – will also be in attendance.
