ABOUT:
For Alex Guarnaschelli—whose mother edited the seminal 1997 edition of Joy of Cooking, which defined the food of the late twentieth century—a life in food and cookbooks was almost predestined. In her highly anticipated latest cookbook, The Home Cook: Recipes to Know by Heart (Clarkson Potter | September 26, 2017 | Hardcover), the mother, accomplished chef, and Food Network star has penned an all-in-one cooking bible for a new generation that encourages home cooks to make great food and share it with others.

Whether it’s a Monday-night supper or a weekend dinner party, The Home Cook provides an entire repertoire for every occasion and every flavor profile. The new generation of home cooks who were raised on vibrant, international flavors and supermarkets stocked with miso paste, harissa, and other bold condiments and ingredients will have a new go-to resource for everything from simple vinaigrettes and roast chicken to birthday cake and cocktails. Novices and seasoned home cooks alike will be encouraged to explore new grains, to seek out and enjoy under-the-radar cuts of meat, and learn how to tackle cooking fish at home.

Stew Leonard’s will offer Guarnaschelli’s latest cookbook for purchase for a special price of $24.99 during the event.

ABOUT ALEX GUARNASCHELLI:
ALEX GUARNASCHELLI is the daughter of esteemed cookbook editor Maria Guarnaschelli. Alex spent much of her youth surrounded by food and cookbooks, immersed in whatever new recipes her mother was testing. After training at La Varenne Culinary School in Burgundy, France, Alex moved to Paris and worked at Guy Savoy for four years before returning to New York to cook at Daniel. Since 2003, she has been the executive chef at Butter Restaurant. Alex appears on numerous Food Network shows, including as a judge on Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay and as an Iron Chef on Iron Chef America. She lives in New York City with her daughter.
