BEG YOUR PARDON, STEW?
Stew Leonard Jr. to Pardon Turkey on November 25
18lb Turkey to Receive Thanksgiving Reprieve at Stew Leonard’s in Norwalk
In keeping with a long history of Presidential turkey pardons, Stew Leonard’s President & CEO Stew Leonard Jr will pardon an 18 pound turkey at Stew Leonard’s in Norwalk the day before Thanksgiving!
Raised on a farm in Pennsylvania, the 18 pound turkey has been named Madison after Stew’s fourth and youngest daughter. Madison the turkey has made Norwalk her temporary home since November 18 and has been housed in a spacious pen in front of Stew Leonard’s for customers to see as they do their holiday shopping. Madison the turkey was raised on the same farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania that supplies Thanksgiving turkeys to the White House.
Stew Leonard Jr. will be joined by members of the Leonard family as well as local dignitaries on Wednesday, November 25 to issue a pardon to Madison the turkey. After the pardon is issued, Madison will be sent to live on a Connecticut rescue farm.
Company-wide, Stew Leonard’s will sell more than 1 million pounds of turkey this Thanksgiving.
President & CEO Stew Leonard Jr. will be joined by his parents, Stew & Marianne Leonard, along with local dignitaries other members of the Leonard family as well as Wow the Cow and Stew Leonard’s Team Members in a ceremony as they pardon Madison the turkey from this year’s Thanksgiving dinner table.
