Phoenix Children’s Hospital Partners with the Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation on
Water Watchers School Curriculum to Save Young Lives
Stew Leonard, Jr. Reads Stewie the Duck Learns to Swim and
Donates Books to Hospital

Stew Leonard, Jr. visited the Phoenix Children’s Hospital in January to read Stewie the Duck Learns to Swim and talk about his personal experience and water safety. Every child received a copy of the book and a Stewie the Duck Water Safety medal.

Phoenix Children’s Hospital partnered with the Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation this year on a water safety curriculum that is being introduced to first graders in the Phoenix area and is also part of the Water Watchers program at the hospital. The program was started by Druann Letter, a first grade teacher who lost her own son in 1998, and Tiffaney Isaacson, who is the water safety coordinator for the hospital.

The Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation was honored by the Norwalk YMCA at their 76th Annual Meeting for helping build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Pictured with the award are:
