STEW LEONARD’S KICKS-OFF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON
WITH ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

Celebration features Santa Clause, Snow, Celtic Cross Pipes & Drums,
Caroling, Cocoa and Cookies
   
WHAT: Stew Leonard’s Norwalk and Danbury stores officially kick-off the Christmas season with the annual ceremonial lighting of the stores’ 30+-foot Christmas trees adorned with more than 10,000 lights.
To help set the stage, Stew Leonard’s has arranged for it to “snow,” no matter what the weather forecast is. The ceremony commences with the Danbury-based Celtic Cross Pipes and Drum, to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Hot chocolate and coffee, as well as Christmas cookies and donuts will be served, compliments of Stew Leonard’s.

WHEN: NORWALK STORE: Tuesday, December 2, 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
  DANBURY STORE: Friday, December 5, 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
 
WHO:
  • The Celtic Cross Pipes & Drums kick-off the tree lighting ceremony. The
    23-member Danbury based bag pipers and drummers are led by Pipe Major Sean Lyons and Drum Major Dan McKee
 
  • Santa and Mrs. Clause arrive on a specially-decorated hayride wagon
 
  • Stew Leonard, Jr. and his family, along with Stew Leonard, Sr. (founder of Stew Leonard’s) and his wife, Marianne, join Mr. and Mrs. Clause on stage and introduce the Mayor. Together they light the tree.
 
  • In Danbury, the Coca-Cola Holiday truck will be on-site with entertainment for children
