Stew Leonard's offers Visitors Guide

Travelocity recently named Stew Leonard’s one of Connecticut’s “Top 10 local hidden gems and family favorites,” while CNN.com Travel Pursuits said, “Stew Leonard’s is the kind of grocery store where kids want to go—and if you aren’t a kid, it’s likely to make you one again.”

Stew Leonard’s is not your typical supermarket – it is more like a cross between a farmer’s market and an amusement park. There are “attractions” that appeal to everyone – from dancing cows and singing milk cartons to free samples and in-store events.

To help introduce people to what the New York Times dubbed the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” and Ripley’s Believe it or Not called “The World’s Largest Dairy Store,” we created this “visitor’s guide” to Stew Leonard’s.

This brochure gives visitors a glimpse into what makes Stew Leonard’s such a unique place to visit, as well as to shop. It includes sections on:
  • The history of the family-owned food store founded in 1969 and named for the past two years among FORTUNE magazine’s, “100 Best Companies to Work for in America”
  • Why Stew Leonard’s offers only 2,000 items when the average supermarket has over 50,000 (because 80% of the food at Stew’s is made right in front of the customer or brought in fresh that day.)
  • What makes customers say “WOW”! Between the costumed characters and animatronics, free samples throughout the store, Stew’s Little Farm and the big three-ton granite rock at the entrance that states the store’s policy: “Rule #1 – The Customer is Always Right. Rule #2 – If the customer is ever wrong, Re-read Rule #1” – there is a WOW for everyone.
  • How to find our three stores in Norwalk and Danbury, Conn. and Yonkers, NY.
  • And best of all, a coupon for a free ice cream cone, just for stopping by!
