STEW LEONARD’S
GRILL AT CALF PASTURE BEACH KICKS-OFF SEASON TWO WITH LOBSTER DINNERS,
BIRTHDAY
PARTIES AND PROMOTIONS |
| |
| NORWALK, Conn., June 11, 2004 -- Memorial
Day marked the official opening of Stew Leonard’s Grill at Calf Pasture Beach, located in Norwalk,
Connecticut. |
| |
This
is the second summer since Stew Leonard’s began operating the
Grill at the beach, and just as the family-owned food store is much
more than a traditional grocery store, Stew’s Grill at Calf Pasture
Beach offers much more than a typical beach concession. New this year
are unique menu items such as lobster dinners and grilled panini sandwiches,
as well as children’s birthday parties and gourmet catered private
and corporate parties. |
| |
| Stew’s Grill at Calf Pasture is open every day from 11:00 A.M.
until 9:00 P.M. through Labor Day. Customers who do not have a Norwalk
Beach Pass can have their beach entrance fee refunded by obtaining a
voucher with the purchase of any meal at Stew’s Grill. |
| |
| New Menu Items |
| “The most popular item on our menu is the Cheeseburger Combo
that comes with fries and a drink for $5.50, but our new grilled panini
sandwiches ($6.99 for the combo) and lobster dinners – with corn
on the cob, French fries and a drink for $12.99-- are quickly becoming
customer favorites,” said Joe Vota, Stew’s Grill manager. “We
like to think that people eat at Stew’s Grill simply because of
our great food, but the amazing view of Long Island Sound at Calf Pasture
Beach gives us one of the best outdoor eating locations in the area.” |
| |
| Birthday Parties and Catered Parties |
| Also new this year, Stew Leonard’s is hosting children’s
birthday parties, geared to children ages four through 10. All parties
include a choice of pizza, hot dogs or chicken nuggets, along with French
fries, drinks, ice cream and birthday cake. Stew’s birthday party
staff provides invitations and decorations, in addition to organizing
and running favorite party games, such as musical chairs, potato sack
races, and limbo dancing. Children also receive a visit from Stew Leonard’s
store mascot, WOW the COW. |
| |
| Parties last approximately 1 ½ hours, and cost $200 for 10 children
(additional children are $15.00 each). For an extra $50.00, Stew Leonard’s
party staff conducts a Super Hero party for boys (with appearances by
Batman, Spiderman or Superman), or a Makeup and Dance themed party for
girls (with nail polish, makeup and disco ball). |
| Interested parents can call Karin at 203.847.7213 ext. 167 for more
information or to schedule a party. |
| Stew Leonard’s Executive Chef
George Llorens is also conducting gourmet catered affairs for private
or corporate parties.
