WHAT:
"Rule #1 -- The Customer is Always Right;" "Rule #2 If the Customer is Ever Wrong, Re-Read Rule #1." This principle is so essential to the foundation of Stew Leonard's that it is etched in a three-ton granite rock at each stores entrance. Ask Stew Leonard, Sr. and he will tell you it is the reason their family is still in business after 40 years.
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of his business, Stew Leonard, Sr. wrote a book with professional journalist Scotty Reiss: Stew Leonard: My Story. In it, he shares insights and anecdotes about the victories and setbacks he experienced along the way detailing the secrets that helped him build the "World's Largest Dairy Store," from its establishment in 1969 into the famous retail phenomenon it is today.
Join Stew Leonard, Sr. and Ms. Reiss at the Westport Library Wednesday, June 2 as they discuss the book and talk about providing four decades of outstanding customer service and what it has meant to their family business. Following the speaking agenda, Stew Leonard, Sr. will personally sign copies of his book.

WHO:
Stew Leonard, Sr. is the founder of the unique retail business that bears his name. Owner of a milk delivery business back in the 60s, it was Stew's dream to build a retail dairy store where children could watch milk being bottled while mothers did their shopping in a farmer's market atmosphere. In December 1969, Stew Leonard, Sr. opened the doors to his dairy which carried eight items and employed seven people. At 80, Stew Leonard, Sr. is still very active in the business.
Stew Leonard's has been named one of FORTUNE Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" for the past nine consecutive years, cited by the Guinness Book of World Records for having the greatest sales per unit area and identified by Ripley's Believe It or Not as the World's Largest Dairy Store.
