STEW LEONARD'S NEWINGTON STORE OFFERS CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS COOKIE WORKSHOPS FOR THE HOLIDAYS

WHAT:
Stew Leonard's Newington store is hosting Christmas Cookie Workshops for children ages seven to 12 years old. Two workshops will be offered: Friday, December 12 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday, December 13 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

The children will make batches of several Christmas cookie favorites, including gingerbread men, decorated sugar cookies and jam thumbprints. In addition to acquiring a skill they can take with them for many holiday seasons to come, the children will receive hands-on instruction and learn about the importance of measuring, cooperation skills in the kitchen and food safety.

While the cookies are baking, each child will get to decorate his own Chinese food container to take the edible creations home in.

Children do not need to be accompanied by an adult, although parents are welcome to observe.
