Stew Leonard's Newington Store Offers Children's Mexican-Themed Cooking Class in Celebration of Cinco de Mayo
Monday, May 5th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM
WHAT:
Stew Leonard's Newington store is offering a Mexican-themed cooking class for children between the ages of eight to 12
years-old in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.
The children receive hands-on instruction in preparing salsa, guacamole, quesadillas and cinnamon churros. They also learn about the importance of measuring, cooperation skills in the kitchen and food safety.
Not only do the children get to taste their creations, they also participate in a "graduation" ceremony where they receive a chef's hat and medal at the end of the class, along with the recipes of the dishes they made.
Children do not need to be accompanied by an adult, although parents are welcome to observe.
