STEW LEONARDS HOSTS POTTER PARTIES FOR MIDNIGHT RELEASE OF
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Event Features Free Crafts and Treats, Costume Contest and 40 Percent off Book
FRIDAY, JULY 20 FROM 10:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M.
WHAT:
Muggles and wizards of all ages are invited to Stew Leonards for the midnight release of the new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book beginning at 10:00 P.M. Friday, July 20, with books going on sale at the stroke of midnight on Saturday, July 21. The Potter Parties will take place simultaneously at all four Stew Leonards locations and consist of:
40 percent-off retail price
- Stew Leonards is selling the book at $19.99 (40 percent off the retail price of $34.99)
Costume Contest
- Prizes will be awarded for children who come to the event dressed as their favorite Harry
Potter character, including book giveaways and a Harry Potter movie basket.
Free Crafts
- Three craft stations will be set up to keep the young wizards engaged while waiting for
the clock to strike midnight. Children can make their own wizard hat, magic wand and magical
book mark (spells not included). Parents can reserve a space for the crafts by signing up at
any Stew Leonards Customer Service Desk.
Free Treats
- Hungry Hogwarts can feast on butterbeer for kids (apple cider with ice cream), cookies,
and popcorn as they wait for the clock to strike 12.
First Chapter Book Reading
- After the books are distributed at midnight, a reading of the first chapter will take
place.
WHO:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the highly anticipated (and dreaded) final book of the Harry Potter series by author J.K. Rowling. What will happen to Harry? Will he survive against Voldemort? This is the book that holds the answers to these and many other questions raised throughout the seven book series.
WHEN:
Friday, July 20 10:00 P.M. 12:00 A.M.
- Stew"s stores may be closed, but the outdoor hoedown area will turn into a
virtual Hogwarts with a magic wand, hat and bookmark making class, along with free treats
to keep hungry Hogwarts happy!
- At 11:30, all children who come dressed as one of their favorite characters in the
book can participate in the "parade of costumes" contest. Prizes will be
awarded for most creative and best interpretation.
Saturday, July 21 12:01 A.M. to 1:00 A.M.
- Purchase the newly released book for 40 percent off retail price. Stay at Stews for
a reading of the first chapter.
