Stew Leonards Introduces Dairy Fresh Premium Ice Cream with Sampling Days
NORWALK, Conn., July 19, 2006 Stew Leonards, a family-owned fresh food
store in Norwalk and Danbury, Connecticut and Yonkers, New York is introducing a new line
of premium ice creams made with fresh cream from the stores dairy in Ellington, Connecticut.
The ice creams will debut during the last week of July National Ice Cream Month; customers can
try a free sample of any of the six flavors during sampling events held on Saturday, July 29
and Sunday, July 30 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. in the frozen ice cream section of each store.
Heres the scoop on Stew Leonards Dairy Fresh Premium Ice Cream:
- Available in six flavors -- Chocolate Grove, Milk N Cookies, Vanilla Fudge Dosado,
Nuts about Pistachio, Farm Stand Strawberry and Country Vanilla;
- Packaged in quart containers and sold at the same price as brand name premium pint
packages, $3.29 or two for $6.00
- Freshly made every day using the cream from Stew Leonards dairy farm in Ellington, Connecticut.
- The premium quarts will be sold in the frozen section of the store, separately from the Ice
Cream Parlor at the front of the store, which serves soft serve ice cream.
"We wanted to offer our customers a top-of-the-line, premium ice cream, without the premium price tag.
In addition to using fresh cream from our dairy farm, our ice cream is made with cream of the crop ingredients,
such as fresh strawberries, real vanilla and whole pistachios, with no artificial colors added," said Craig
Hartmann, dairy plant manager, who worked with CEO Stew Leonard, Jr. on developing the new premium ice cream line.

and Danbury, Conn. and Yonkers, N.Y., with a fourth store planned to open in early 2007 in Newington,
