RAISE $20,000 FOR HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF
New Orleans Born Team Member Presents Checks to Local American
Red Cross and Salvation Army Chapters
NORWALK, Conn., Oct. 5. 2005--All three Stew Leonards locations held a fundraising drive at the
stores Wishing Wells for the month of September to go towards the American Red Cross and Salvation Armys Hurricane
Katrina relief efforts. A total of $10,194.34 was collected at the stores and the Leonard family
matched that with a personal donation of $10,000.
Stew Leonard, Sr., the founder of Stew Leonards food stores, along with New Orleans born team member Wendy Febbraio,
were on hand to present checks totaling $10,097.17 each to Captains David and Karen Wetzel of The
Salvation Army (on left) and Jack Harder, Director of Health Services, American Red Cross Mid-Fairfield County chapter
(on right).
