Award Winning TV Chef, Cookbook Author and Restaurateur Lidia Bastianich Conducts Book Signing and Tasting of New Marinara Sauce at Stew Leonard's
   
WHAT: Stew Leonard's is the first retailer in Connecticut to sell celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich’s Marinara sauce, and Stew Leonard’s customers can not only be among the first to taste it, but to meet the person who inspired it up close and personal.
 
The chef and owner of Felidia and Becco restaurants in New York and the star of Lidia’s Italian Table and Lidia’s Italian American Kitchen, Chef Lidia Bastianich, will be autographing copies of her cookbook, Lidia's Italian-American Kitchen, (Knopf). The cookbook normally retails for $35.00, but Stew Leonard's will be offering the book for $19.99.
   
WHO: Lidia Bastianich is widely regarded as the "First Lady of Italian cuisine and restaurants in the United States." She was named "Outstanding Chef" in 2002 and "Best Chef in New York" in 1999 by the James Beard Foundation. She is the owner of the New York City restaurant Felidia, named by Zagat as one of the Top Italian restaurants and among the Top 50 overall restaurants. Her television show, Lidia's Italian American Kitchen, began airing in January 2001 on PBS and is accompanied by her third cookbook by the same name.
