STEW LEONARD’S GRILL AT CALF PASTURE BEACH
OPENS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
NORWALK, Conn., May 19, 2003 -- Just 10 days after learning that Stew Leonard’s proposal to operate the concession stand at Calf Pasture Beach was approved by the City of Norwalk, the doors that had previously remained shut for two years will once again be open for business.

Stew Leonard’s Grill at Calf Pasture Beach will begin operation on Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 A.M., serving traditional fare such as hamburgers, hotdogs and ice cream, as well as beach supplies ranging from beach chairs to suntan lotion.

Hours for Stew’s Grill at the Beach will be 11:00 A.M until 8:00 P.M., Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday. The Grill will stay open through October 1.

Under the terms of the contract, Stew Leonard’s committed to restoring the facility and operating it for the next two summers. After this period, the City of Norwalk will put the concession stand up for re-bidding.

"We’re excited about the positive response we’ve received from the Norwalk community about the opening of Stew Leonard’s Grill at Calf Pasture Beach,” said Stew Leonard, Jr., President and CEO of Stew Leonard’s. “It is a real personal family pleasure for us to be down here at the beach. We are going to do the best job we can and hope to bring the standards of the concession up to what the people of Norwalk can be proud of."
