Three All-time Favorite Women's UConn Basketball Players Come to Stew Leonard's
Newington Store to Sample Coach Geno Auriemma's Famous Sauce

WHAT:
Come meet three all-time favorite UConn women basketball players—Rita Williams, Maria Conlon and Meghan Pattyson-Cuomo—as they sample their former coach Geno Auriemma's famous tomato basil and fra diavolo pasta sauces at Stew Leonard's Newington store.

Since Geno will be busy coaching the UConn women's basketball team to a potential sixth national championship, he is relying on three former stars to sample his sauces in two delicious recipes: shrimp fra diavolo over pasta and fresh tomato basil pizza.

The first 25 customers to purchase a bottle will receive a signed headshot of Geno. Rita, Maria and Meghan will be on hand signing bottles for fans and posing for pictures.

In addition to being Head Coach of the UConn Huskies women's basketball team for 24 straight seasons and transforming the team into an unprecedented five-time national championship winner, Geno Auriemma packages his fresh, all-natural tomato basil and fra diavolo pasta sauces, which are available for purchase at local stores.

Rita Williams was named Most Outstanding Player of the 1998 Big East Championship. During her junior year, she had the third-highest season total steals in Huskies history and was a second team All Big East selection during her senior year.

Maria Conlon on Saturday, March 21st from 10:00 AM to 2:00PM Maria Conlon was one of only two players to have played in all 70 games during UConn’s record-setting run of 70 straight victories. During the 2002-03 NCAA Championship game, Maria played a team-high of 39 minutes, finishing with 11 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Meghan Cuomo on Saturday, March 28th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Meghan Pattyson-Cuomo was co-captain during the 1991-92 season. She graduated as the ninth all-time leading scorer for UConn, with 1,106 points. She was awarded Most Outstanding Player of the 1991 Big East Championship and named to the 1991 Big East Championship All-Tournament Team.
