MASTER GARDENER VISITS STEW LEONARD'S
DANBURY STORE FOR FREE GARDENING LECTURE

WHAT:
Stew Leonard's Danbury, Conn. store is adding a special guest lecture to its FREE Saturday Morning Garden Workshop series. Advanced Master Gardener, freelance garden writer and book author, Lorraine Ballato, will join the Stew Leonard's Garden Center team on Saturday, September 12 to show guests how to take the guesswork out of watering while growing the best plants ever.

During the one-hour lecture, Lorraine will unleash how and why to convert favorite gardening containers to self-watering containers. She'll also share her secret tips for how to accomplish this do-it-yourself process while spending very little money and using items found in the average home.

WHO:
After leaving corporate America, Lorraine Ballato turned her passion for gardening into a second career as a freelance garden writer and communicator. She wrote a regular column for Housatonic Publications for over five years and has contributed numerous articles for other publications, including Edible Nutmeg, People, Places, and Plants magazine, and Connecticut Gardener. Lorraine is an Advanced Master Gardener and teaches classes and gives lectures on a diverse range of topics to civic groups, garden clubs and other organizations. The garden she and her husband built and maintain in southwestern Connecticut has been featured in People, Places and Plants magazine and has been included in several horticultural tours.
