WHAT:
Jacques Pépin has dedicated over fifty years of his life to the culinary arts, sharing his food knowledge with Americans via twenty-six cookbooks and eleven acclaimed public television cooking series. Now you can meet the culinary icon at Stew Leonard's Norwalk store as he demonstrates several of his favorite one-minute appetizer recipes and signs copies of his newest cookbook, Jacques Pépin: More Fast Food My Way (Houghton Mifflin; October 7, 2008; $32.00; ISBN-13: 978-0-618-14233-0), and autobiography, The Apprentice: My Life in the Kitchen (Houghton Mifflin; 2003; $26.00; ISBN 0-618-19737-0) publishing information). Stew Leonard's is offering the books at special holiday gift prices of $22.99 and $19.99, respectively, and a combination price (one of each) of $40.00.

Jacques Pépin: More Fast Food My Way is the companion cookbook to his 26-part PBS series of the same name, and the sequel to the popular Jacques Pépin: Fast Food My Way. Each recipe in the cookbook and television series draws from Asian, Latin American and European culinary techniques to share 100 fast, fresh and healthy recipes that are easy to prepare and can fit into any busy weeknight schedule. Each recipe also comes with easy-to-follow techniques and tips, an accumulation of Pépin’s over fifty years of culinary experience. In his autobiography, The Apprentice: My Life in the Kitchen, Jacques takes you through his culinary journey from young boy in his mother’s French restaurants to his move to the United States and evolution into one of the world’s most influential culinarians.

To kick off the event, Jacques will demonstrate several one-minute appetizer recipes that are perfect for holiday entertaining. The book signing will follow the one-minute recipes demonstration.
