RELAX IN THE KITCHEN WITH CHEF CURTIS STONE AT STEW LEONARD’S YONKERS STORE

Master Chef, Best-Selling Cookbook Author, and TV Food Personality Shares Relaxed Approach to Cooking in Newest Cookbook, Signs Copies for Customers and Demonstrates Recipe

Wednesday, June 24 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

WHAT:
According to Curtis Stone, the Aussie chef currently taking the culinary world by storm, everyday cooking should be simple and fun, a chance to relax with the people you love instead of slaving away in the kitchen. Now you can meet the master chef, best-selling cookbook author and TV food personality at Stew Leonard’s Yonkers store as he signs copies of his newest cookbook, Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone: Recipes to Put You in My Favorite Mood (Clarkson Potter/Publishers, April 14, 2009; $32.50, hardcover), which shares his philosophy of cooking with seasonal, locally-produced ingredients, keeping recipes simple, and allowing the food to speak for itself. Stew Leonard’s is offering the book at a special price of $19.99 for the book signing.

Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone shares simple recipes made from fresh, healthful and seasonal ingredients, clever shortcuts that make it easier to relax in the kitchen, and Curtis’ chilled-out Australian attitude. The recipes are sensibly-organized by eating occasions and moods: refreshing, energizing breakfasts; lazy, late-morning brunches; fresh, everyday dinners; fun foods for crowds; and snacks for the sofa.

Curtis will kick off the signing with a cooking demonstration featuring a recipe from his book.

WHO:
Curtis Stone’s culinary career took off when he walked into the kitchen of legendary London Chef Marco Pierre White and offered to work for free in exchange for the opportunity to cook alongside the three-star Michelin talent. He proved his worth in one month and was brought on staff at The Grill Room at Café Royal, where he stayed for two years. Curtis advanced to Sous Chef status at Mirabelle and stayed there until Chef Marco offered him the reigns to his flagship restaurant, Quo Vadis. It was here that Curtis received critical acclaim as a world-renown chef. In 2003, Curtis made the leap to television with his first show Surfing the Menu, which ran for four seasons in 26 countries. He can now be watched on TLC’s hit show Take Home Chef, where in every episode he surprises a shopper in the market and takes them home to create a meal for their loved one. Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone is his fourth cookbook. For more information, visit www.curtisstone.com.
