For every 10 Easter coloring page entries submitted, Stew Leonard's will donate one ham to a local food shelter in time for Easter Sunday. "Kids know we are facing tough economic times and want to do their part to help, especially during holidays" said Stew Leonard, Jr., President and CEO of Stew Leonard's. "The coloring contest not only helps feed families in need this Easter, but shows kids they can make a difference and help their communities, no matter what their age." Stew Leonard's Norwalk, Danbury and Newington, Conn. and Yonkers, N.Y. stores will each host their own "Color for the Community" contest. Kids 10 and under can pick up a blank coloring page with contest rules at any store or download it at http://www.stewleonards.com/html/08coloringpdf.cfm. They have until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 to complete and drop off their entries at the customer service desk of their local store. Each store location will hold its own contest and award its own winners. Judges will review entries based on artistic merit and creativity and award first, second and third place winners in three age groups—three to four years old, five to seven, and eight to 10. The winning entries will be posted in the store and winners will receive Easter baskets as their prize. Winners will be notified by phone. For every 10 coloring page entries submitted, Stew Leonard's will donate one ham to a local food shelter, up to a total of 1,000 entries.
