STEW LEONARD'S ISSUES VOLUNTARILY RECALL OF
PACKAGED TRAIL MIX DUE TO PISTACHIO RECALL BY SETTON
PISTACHIO OF TERRA BELLA, INC.

NORWALK, Conn., April 9, 2009 – As a result of Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc.'s recall including all roasted shelled and roasted in-shell pistachios harvested in 2008 due to potential contamination with Salmonella, Stew Leonard's is taking precaution and voluntarily recalling its Stew Leonard's Health Mix, 24 oz from its Norwalk, Conn. and Yonkers, NY stores.

The move comes after Stew Leonard's was notified by the company that manufactures its Health Mix that the roasted shelled pistachios used in the mix were purchased from Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. The recall includes Stew Leonard's Health Mix, 24 oz sold only in the Norwalk, Conn. and Yonkers, NY stores between September 2008 and February 2009.

It is important to note that while illnesses have been reported, they have not yet been linked to the Salmonella strains found in pistachio products and no illnesses have been reported in connection with Stew Leonard’s Health Mix.

Stew Leonard's has confirmed that all other products containing pistachios sold in its stores are safe to eat.

Consumers who purchased Stew Leonard's Health Mix, 24 oz between September 2008 and February 2009 should return it for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the Norwalk, Conn. store at 203-847-7214 and the Yonkers, NY store at 914-375-4700. A full list of products affected by the recall can be found at www.fda.gov
