TRICKS AND TREATS IN-STORE AT STEW LEONARD'S FOR THE HALLOWEEN SEASON


WHAT:
Stew Leonard's kicks off the Halloween season with a "Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off" to celebrate the opening of the Pumpkin Patch, along with the annual Halloween Hayride Spooktacular and free Friday night Halloween movies at the Hay Bale Theater.

Pumpkin Patch and the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off
The Garden Shop becomes a sea of orange, as 50,000 Connecticut grown pumpkins arrive, along with Halloween decorations, corn stalks and hay bales.

On Sunday, September 28th, Stew Leonard's will be hosting the Connecticut Giant Squash & Pumpkin Growers Association Weigh-Off from Noon until 4:00 P.M. Visit www.ctpumpkin.com for information on how to register.

Halloween Hayride Spooktacular

This 15-minute family-friendly hayride featuring 25 different vignettes, ranging from scenes of popular movie and television characters, to traditional holiday settings, which illuminate to a choreographed musical light show. The children receive their "treat" of candy after the ride.

The hayride opens Saturday, September 27th and runs through October 31, 2007. Hours of operation:

  • Monday through Thursday: 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M
  • Friday: 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
  • Saturday and Sunday 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Cost for the hayride is $1.00 per person.

Hay Bale Theater
Every Friday night in October, Stew Leonard's will show a free children’s Halloween movie, and serve complimentary juice and popcorn. All movies begin at 7:00 P.M. on Friday nights, with seating opening at 6:30 P.M.:
  • October 3: "It's the GREAT Pumpkin Charlie Brown"
  • October 10: "Casper The Friendly Ghost and Friends Trick or Treat"
  • October 17: "Dora's Halloween"
  • October 24: "Eloise's Rawther Unusual Halloween"
Trick-or-Treat
On Halloween, children can trick-or-treat in the store and receive free ice cream if they are in costume.
