GET A TASTE OF THANKSGIVING AT STEW LEONARD'S NEWINGTON STORE

NEWINGTON, Conn., Nov. 11, 2008 –Stew Leonard's Newington store is holding their annual "Taste of Thanksgiving" event -- a free tasting of the store's freshly prepared holiday foods -- every day from Noon until 4:00 PM, beginning on November 15th and running through Thanksgiving.

A cornucopia of sampling stations will be set up throughout the store to offer customers ideas for their holiday entertaining menus and to give them an opportunity to taste some of Stew's most popular holiday dishes. Chefs and team members will be on hand to answer customer questions, offer suggestions on menu planning and to take holiday catering orders.

"Stew Leonard's offers an array of freshly-prepared holiday foods - all made from scratch. Our gravy is made from real turkey giblets, our mashed potatoes are made using real Idaho potatoes and fresh dairy milk and butter. We offer fresh soups, starters, sides and stuffing, freshly marinated oven-ready turkeys and spiral glazed hams, dinner rolls and desserts," said Chaz Fable, Executive Chef.

Here is a preview of some of the dishes that will be featured:

  • Stew Leonard's top-selling cheeses: Vintage Irish Cheddar, St. Andre and Stilton Blue.
  • Sumptuous sides, including sweet potato mousse, butternut squash with sage, Stew's signature stuffing and mashed potatoes whipped with fresh butter and spices.
  • Award-winning desserts, including Lyman Orchards apple pie, along with fresh-baked pumpkin pie and fresh fruit tarts.
