STEW LEONARD’S CHURNS-UP NEW DAIRY FRESH ULTRA-PREMIUM ICE CREAM

Free Sampling Days on July 13 through July 15

NORWALK, Conn., June 27, 2007 -- Stew Leonard’s, renown for their award-winning milk from their own dairy farm in Ellington, Connecticut, has taken the fresh cream produced after milk production and churned it into six new flavors of ultra-premium ice cream. The new ice cream is launching in July, during National Ice Cream month, and all four Stew Leonard’s locations are holding free sampling days on July 13th through the 15th from 11:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M., where customers can try any flavor of Stew Leonard’s Dairy Fresh Ice Cream for free.

"My dad began making ice cream when studying at the University of Connecticut over 60 years ago. Stew Leonard’s rich, premium ice cream is a tribute to him and our 2,000 cows in Ellington, Connecticut," said Stew Leonard, Jr., President and CEO of Stew Leonard’s.

Stew Leonard’s Dairy Fresh ice cream is made in small batches with all natural ingredients, hand-packed into pints and will retail for $3.19 or two for $6.00. Craig Hartmann, Stew Leonard’s dairy plant manager, came up with the six exclusive flavor formulations:  Pure Vanilla, Belgian Chocolate, Vanilla Fudgy Fudge Swirl, Double Chocolate Chip, Double Mint Chip, and Ripe Strawberry.

Stew Leonard's, a family-owned and operated grocery founded in 1969, has four stores in Norwalk, Danbury, and Newington, Conn. and Yonkers, NY. The company was named among FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work for in America" for the past six consecutive years.
