STEW LEONARD'S WELCOMES
THE WORLD HARMONY RUN

Stew's is the last stop on Team's 50-State Goodwill Run

WHO:
Stew Leonard’s Norwalk store will host the World Harmony Run on Sunday, August 13 at 3:30 P.M. The goodwill team has run through all 50 states and Stew Leonard’s is the last stop before they hit their final destination: New York City.

The 10+ runners from all different countries will be greeted by Stew Leonard’s Team Members and customers as they take a victory lap through the store. Norwalk’s City Clerk and Senior Olympian, Mary Roman, will then hand the torch off to Norwalk Mayor Richard Moccia, who will read a special proclamation.

WHAT:
The World Harmony Run is a global relay that seeks to promote international friendship and understanding. As a symbol of harmony, runners carry a flaming torch, passing it from hand to hand between members of thousands of local communities, traveling through over 70 nations around the globe.

The 11,000-mile World Harmony Run USA, which began in 1987, has involved over one million people. Harmony Run organizers also work with school officials nationwide to spread the ideals of the Harmony Run through school curriculums-teaching peaceful conflict resolution and self-esteem. The 2006 World Harmony Run USA will conclude in New York City on August 20. Visit www.worldharmonyrun.org for more information.
