FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEGET YOUR LAST LICKS THIS ICE CREAM MONTH FOR FREEStew Leonard’s Introduces Dairy Fresh Premium Ice Cream with Sampling DaysNORWALK, Conn., July 19, 2006 – Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned fresh food store in Norwalk and Danbury, Connecticut and Yonkers, New York is introducing a new line of premium ice creams made with fresh cream from the stores’ dairy in Ellington, Connecticut. The ice creams will debut during the last week of July National Ice Cream Month; customers can try a free sample of any of the six flavors during sampling events held on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. in the frozen ice cream section of each store. Here’s the scoop on Stew Leonard’s Dairy Fresh Premium Ice Cream:
"We wanted to offer our customers a top-of-the-line, premium ice cream, without the premium price tag. In addition to using fresh cream from our dairy farm, our ice cream is made with cream of the crop ingredients, such as fresh strawberries, real vanilla and whole pistachios, with no artificial colors added," said Craig Hartmann, dairy plant manager, who worked with CEO Stew Leonard, Jr. on developing the new premium ice cream line. Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has three stores in Norwalk and Danbury, Conn. and Yonkers, N.Y., with a fourth store planned to open in early 2007 in Newington, Connecticut. The company was named among FORTUNE magazine’s "100 Best Companies to Work" for the past five consecutive years. For more information, visit Stew Leonard’s website at www.stewleonards.com
