The dinners will be prepared in front of customers by one of Stew Leonard’s chefs and served alfresco style under a lighted tent on the beach. While the menu will vary, it will feature a ‘just caught’ seafood selection, along with fresh corn on the cob, baked potato and drink for $16.99. The “Catch of the Day” dinners begin on Friday, June 16 and will run every weekend through September 15. “We wanted to offer some gourmet selections at dinner on weekend nights, to complement our traditional beach menu items. In addition to seafood entrees, we will offer ‘surf and turf’ menu options with Porterhouse steaks and lobster. We want to keep it fresh and exciting for customers,” said Joe Vota, manager at Stew Leonard’s Grill at Calf Pasture Beach. “We’re also offering private catered parties for 25 people or more, as well as our children’s birthday parties.” Calf Pasture Beach is located in East Norwalk. To get to the beach from I-95, take Exit 16, and turn right at end of ramp onto East Avenue. Proceed on East Avenue and enter traffic circle. Take first road out of circle and follow the blue beach area signs. Customers who do not have a Norwalk beach pass can have their beach entrance fee refunded by obtaining a voucher with the purchase of any meal at Stew’s Grill. Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated grocery founded in 1969, has three stores in Norwalk and Danbury, Conn. and Yonkers, NY. The company was named among FORTUNE magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in America” for the past five consecutive years.
