2017 HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS AT STEW LEONARD’S DANBURY STORE
Stew Leonard’s Danbury store announces the Halloween Happenings it is hosting throughout the month of October 2017, including:
Pumpkin carver Lenny Calvin, former contestant on Food Network’s Halloween Wars Season 6, will be at the store on Saturday, September 30, 2017 to bewitch shoppers with his elaborate Halloween-themed carvings on the store’s pumpkins.
The carving will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Garden Shop for customers to see and enjoy as they pick out their own pumpkins. The carver will use clay tools and X-Acto knives to create a spooky scene on the pumpkin.
Halloween Hay Bale Theater
This October 2017, Stew’s Hoedown will be transformed into a Hay Bale Theater to show a free children’s Halloween-themed movie! The movies will be shown on Friday, October 6; Friday, October 13; Friday, October 20; and Friday, October 27. For movie titles and additional information, please see in-store.
The movies begin at 6:00 P.M., with seating opening at 5:45 P.M. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Halloween Workshop: No Tricks, Just Treats!
Monday, October 23 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.; 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.; 6:00-7:00 pm
$15 per child
Today we will decorate Halloween themed cookies and create our own personal pumpkin patch dirt cups!
Halloween Cupcakes! (Toddler Class)
Tuesday, October 24 from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. and from 11:00 a.m. – Noon
Wednesday Oct 25 from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. and from 11:00 a.m. – Noon
$15 per child (adult must accompany child)
We will decorate four Halloween themed cupcakes and then will each create a silly monster hand puppet to take home!
Halloween Workshop: Pumpkin Painting and Decorating!
Friday, October 20 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. and from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 21 from 11:00 a.m. – Noon and from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
$15 per child
Each child will decorate a regular size pumpkin to take home, using paint, glitter, glue and gemstones. A special Halloween snack and drink will be served.
Saturday, October 28 from 9:00- 10:00 a.m. and from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
$20 per child
Children will create four ghoulish cupcakes and Rice Krispies pumpkins. We’ll even decorate a box in which children can take their treats home! A Halloween punch and snack will be served.
Halloween Breakfast with the Characters
On Saturday, October 28, 2017, families are invited to attend a Halloween Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. with Stew’s most loved characters. Tickets are $9.99/each for children 11 & under and for ages 12 and older $12.99. All adults and children attending the event must have a paid ticket. Kids are encouraged to wear their costumes and have their picture taken with a pumpkin. Families must purchase tickets in advance at Customer Service.
Halloween Hayride Spooktacular
This is a family-friendly hayride. The maiden hayride takes place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 and runs through Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Hayride is weather-permitting. Hours of operation are:
• Monday through Friday: 3:00 P.M. until Dusk
• Weekends: 10:30 A.M. until Dusk
Trick-or-Treat with the Stew Leonard’s Characters
On Thursday, October 26, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M., children are invited to dress in their costumes and come to Stew Leonard’s to go trick or treating throughout the store. Each department in the store will have a candy station for kids to stop at. Children can come with their own bags or Stew Leonard’s will provide one for them. Stew Leonard’s famous characters, including mascot Wow the Cow, will be available for taking photos with the children.
Halloween Day Trick or Treat
On Halloween day, Tuesday, October 31, 2017 children who come to the store in their costumes will receive a free ice cream.
