Book Signing & Wand Making with Steve Simmons, author of Alice and Greta
Local Connecticut author Steve Simmons will be on hand to sign copies of his debut picture book, Alice and Greta, about two young witches who learn the timeless message that a good deed always triumphs over a bad one. A bewitching tale for children ages 3-7, this inspiring story is enhanced by Cyd Moore’s playful illustrations of Alice and Greta as they cast spells at Miss Mildew’s School of Magic. Former President Jimmy Carter noted, “The clever story and whimsical illustrations in Alice and Greta will delight children, with a good lesson about getting along with others.” Stew Leonard’s will sell the book for $11.99 each or 2 for $22 during the event.
The first 100 children at the book signing event can also make their very own Alice and Greta-themed magic wand! Two Stew Leonard’s Team Members will be dressed as the book’s main characters and will guide the children through the craft using colorful tulle and glitter ribbons. No purchase of the book is necessary to participate in the craft. The cost to make a wand is $2 per child.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 19 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Stew Leonard’s in Norwalk.
