2019 HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS AT STEW LEONARD’S DANBURY STORE
Stew Leonard’s Danbury store announces the Halloween Happenings it is hosting throughout the month of October 2019, including:
Halloween Hay Bale Theater
This October 2019, Stew’s Hoedown will be transformed into a Hay Bale Theater to show a free children’s Halloween-themed movie! The movies will be shown on Friday, October 4 at 6 p.m. and Friday, October 18 at 6 p.m. The doors open 15 minutes in advance and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Halloween-Themed Kids’ Cooking Classes
This October, Stew Leonard’s in Danbury will offer three Halloween-themed cooking classes for our smallest of shoppers! During the class, children ages 2-5 will receive hands-on instruction in preparing various products as well as learn about the importance of measuring, cooperation skills in the kitchen and the importance of food safety. Price is per child per class. Parents can register their children via Eventbrite.com (search for Stew Leonard’s in Danbury) starting on September 15, 2019.
Spooky Sugar Cookies Class for Toddlers
Children ages 2-5 will decorate six Halloween-themed cookies. Classes will be held on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. At the end of the class, children and their caretakers will enjoy the store’s family-friendly hayride (weather permitting). Price: $15 per child
Halloween Piñata Cupcake Class for Toddlers
Children ages 2-5 will decorate four Halloween-themed cupcakes with a special surprise inside. Classes to be held on Monday, October 14 and Tuesday, October 15 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. At the end of the class, children and their caretakers will enjoy the store’s family-friendly hayride (weather permitting). Price: $15 per child
Ghostly Pizza Making Class for Toddlers
Children ages 2-5 will make their very own pizza using Stew Leonard’s fresh pizza dough, mozzarella cheese, sauce, and a variety of toppings like black olives, pepperoni, and peppercorns to create a spooky face. Classes will be held on Tuesday, October 29 and Wednesday, October 30 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. At the end of the class, children and their caretakers will enjoy the store’s family-friendly hayride (weather permitting). Price: $15 per child.
Halloween-Themed Breakfast at Stew’s
On Saturday, October 19, 2019, families can attend a Halloween Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. with Stew’s most loved characters, including Wow the Cow, Daphne the Duck, and Stewie the Duck. Families will enjoy a buffet-style breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, mini muffins, assorted bagels, and fruit salad. Tickets for children age 11 and under are $12.99/each and attendees age 12 and older are $14.99/each. No charge for kids age 2 and under. All adults attending the breakfast must have a paid ticket. Costumes are welcome and encouraged! All attendees must pre-register and pay in advance via Eventbrite.com (search Stew Leonard’s Danbury for complete listings). Tickets will be available for purchase starting September 15, 2019.
Halloween Hayride Spooktacular
This is a family-friendly hayride. The maiden hayride takes place on Saturday, October 5, 2019 and runs through Thursday, October 31, 2019. Hayride is weather permitting. Hours of operation are:
• Monday through Friday: 3:00 P.M. until Dusk
• Weekends: 10:30 A.M. until Dusk
Stew Leonard’s in Danbury Second Annual Trunk or Treat
On Friday, October 25, 2019 from 6 – 8 p.m., kids can join Stew Leonard’s in Danbury for their second annual Trunk or Treat event! Children, along with their families, will trick or treat from the trunks of dozens of decorated cars in the store’s parking lot. It is $1 per child to participate and signups will be held at the Danbury store’s customer service desk starting on October 1, 2019. The Trunk or Treat event is limited to 500 children. Parents and caregivers are free.
A panel of Stew Leonard’s Team Members will also vote on the Trunk or Treat car that features the best spooky or wacky decorations! First place will win a $250 gift card to Stew Leonard’s while second place will win $150 and third place will win $50. All cars are kindly asked to supply candy for 500 children and to register their cars in advance via Eventbrite.com starting October 1, 2019 (search for Stew Leonard’s in Danbury).
Trick-or-Treat with the Stew Leonard’s Characters
On Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., children are invited to dress in their costumes and come to Stew Leonard’s to go trick or treating throughout the store. Each department in the store will have a candy station for kids to stop at. Children are kindly asked to bring their own reusable bags. Stew Leonard’s famous characters, including mascot Wow the Cow, will be available for taking photos with the children.
Stew Leonard’s Barkfest
This Halloween, dogs are invited to Stew Leonard’s for a howling good time at the store’s first Barkfest event on October 26, 2019! Customers may bring their pups dressed in their best Halloween costumes and enter for their chance to win a Bubba’s Barkery Gift Basket valued at $100, which contains fresh dog treats made in-house at Stew Leonard’s. To enter a dog, shoppers are kindly asked to bring a small bag or can of dog food and all collected dog food will be donated to a local pet shelter. In Danbury, the event will begin at 11 a.m. and a winner will be selected by a panel of Stew Leonard’s judges by Noon. For complete rules, please see in-store.
Halloween Day Trick or Treat
On Halloween day, Thursday, October 31, 2019 children who come to the store in their costumes will receive a free ice cream.
