2018 HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS AT STEW LEONARD’S DANBURY STORE

WHAT:
Stew Leonard’s Danbury store announces the Halloween Happenings it is hosting throughout the month of October 2018, including:

Halloween Hay Bale Theater
This October 2018, Stew’s Hoedown will be transformed into a Hay Bale Theater to show a free children’s Halloween-themed movie! The movies will be shown on Friday, October 12 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. and Friday, October 26 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. The doors open 15 minutes in advance and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Pumpkin Carving
Pumpkin carver Lenny Calvin, former contestant on Food Network’s Halloween Wars Season 6, will be at the store on Saturday, October 13, 2018 to bewitch shoppers with his elaborate Halloween-themed carvings on the store’s pumpkins.

The carving will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Garden Shop for customers to see and enjoy as they pick out their own pumpkins. The carver will use clay tools and X-Acto knives to create a spooky scene on the pumpkin.

Halloween-Themed Kids’ Classes
All attendees must pre-register and pay in advance via Eventbrite.com (search Stew Leonard’s Danbury for complete listings).

Halloween Cupcakes Class for Toddlers: Children ages 2-5 will decorate four Halloween themed cupcakes. Classes to be held on Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. At the end of the class, children and their caretakers will enjoy the store’s family-friendly hayride. Price: $15 per child.

Spooky Sugar Cookie Pizza Class for Toddlers: Children ages 2-5 will create a sugar cookie “pizza” using Halloween-themed frosting, sprinkles, and other toppings. Classes will be held on Monday, October 15 and Tuesday, October 16 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. At the end of the class, children and their caretakers will enjoy the store’s family-friendly hayride. Price: $15 per child.

Trick or Treat Canvas Bag Class: Children ages 5-12 will decorate their own canvas bag for Halloween Trick or Treating. Three will be held on Saturday, October 20 from 10-11 a.m., from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Price: $15 per child.

Ghostly Pizza Making Class for Toddlers: Children ages 2-5 will make their very own pizza using Stew Leonard’s fresh pizza dough, mozzarella cheese, sauce, and a variety of toppings like black olives, pepperoni, and peppercorns to create a spooky face. Classes will be held on Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. At the end of the class, children and their caretakers will enjoy the store’s family-friendly hayride. Price: $15 per child.

Halloween-Themed Breakfasts at Stew’s
All attendees must pre-register and pay in advance via Eventbrite.com (search Stew Leonard’s Danbury for complete listings).

Superhero Breakfast: On Monday, October 8 (Columbus Day), join Superman, Batman, Captain America, Iron Man, Wonder Woman & Cat Woman for a Superhero Breakfast in the Hoedown from 9:00 – 10:00 am! Families will enjoy a buffet-style breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, mini muffins, assorted bagels, and fruit salad. Tickets for children age 11 and under are $12.99/each and attendees age 12 and older are $14.99/each. No charge for kids age 2 and under. All adults attending the breakfast must have a paid ticket. Costumes are welcome!

Halloween Breakfast with the Characters: On Saturday, October 27, 2018, families are invited to attend a Halloween Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. with Stew’s most loved characters, including Wow the cow, Daphne, Stewie the Duck, Iron Man, & Belle the Princess. Families will enjoy a buffet-style breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, mini muffins, assorted bagels, and fruit salad. Tickets for children age 11 and under are $12.99/each and attendees age 12 and older are $14.99/each. No charge for kids age 2 and under. All adults attending the breakfast must have a paid ticket. Costumes are welcome!

Stew Leonard’s Barkfest
This Halloween, dogs are invited to Stew Leonard’s for a howling good time at the store’s first Barkfest event on October 27, 2018! Customers may bring their pups dressed in their best Halloween costumes and enter for their chance to win a Bubba’s Barkery Gift Basket valued at $100, which contains fresh dog treats made in-house at Stew Leonard’s. To enter a dog, shoppers are kindly asked to bring a small bag or can of dog food and all collected dog food will be donated to a local pet shelter. In Danbury, the event will begin at 11:00 a.m. and a winner will be selected by a panel of Stew Leonard’s judges by 11:30 a.m. For complete rules, please see in-store.

Carved Pumpkin Competition
Do you carve a great pumpkin? Starting on Saturday, October 20, customers are invited to drop off their carved pumpkin at Stew Leonard’s in Danbury’s Garden Center and enter for their chance to win one of three gift cards to Stew’s! Each evening, the pumpkins will be lit with an LED light to create a spooky pumpkin patch for customers to enjoy. Customers will also have the chance to vote for their favorite pumpkin! Three grand prize winners will be announced on Saturday, October 27. Pumpkins can be picked up by their owners on Monday, October 29. For complete contest rules, please see in-store.

Halloween Hayride Spooktacular
This is a family-friendly hayride. The maiden hayride takes place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 and runs through Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Hayride is weather-permitting. Hours of operation are:

• Monday through Friday: 3:00 P.M. until Dusk
• Weekends: 10:30 A.M. until Dusk

Trunk or Treat
On Friday, October 26, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., kids can join Stew Leonard’s in Danbury for their first-ever Trunk or Treat event! Children, along with their families, will trick or treat from 40 decorated cars in the store’s parking lot. One car featuring the best spooky or wacky decorations will win a $100 gift card to Stew Leonard’s! Customers who would like to get in on the action and decorate their car for the event can visit www.Eventbrite.com and search for Stew Leonard’s in Danbury to register. All registered cars are kindly asked to supply candy for at least 100 children.

Trick-or-Treat with the Stew Leonard’s Characters
On Thursday, October 24, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M., children are invited to dress in their costumes and come to Stew Leonard’s to go trick or treating throughout the store. Each department in the store will have a candy station for kids to stop at. Children can come with their own bags or Stew Leonard’s will provide one for them. Stew Leonard’s famous characters, including mascot Wow the Cow, will be available for taking photos with the children.

Halloween Day Trick or Treat
On Halloween day, Wednesday, October 31, 2018 children who come to the store in their costumes will receive a free ice cream.
